International Women’s Day
What better way to celebrate International Women’s Day by introducing you to the 2019 finalists of the Cartier Women’s Initiative. In 2014 CEO & Founder of EVB Sport Yvonne Brady was a finalist for Europe for this very award and EVB Sport has received great support and mentoring from the Cartier Team ever since. This year we have been asked to Coach one of the finalists. Zineb Agoumi who is the co founder of EZYGain https://www.ezygain.com/ a space saving robotic medical devise company.
In 2015, when Zineb Agoumi was studying business and engineering, her grandmother fell ill and started to experience difficulty walking. “She suffered several falls in her home and passed away that same year,” Zineb recalls. “It motivated me to develop a product to help people to learn to walk safely.” Conscious that there was a real need in the market for a more compact and affordable product, to help people to recoup, Zineb incorporated Ezygain in 2016 to bring their device to market.
Engineers & Physiotherapists collaborating
At EVB Sport we are always encouraging Engineers to collaborate closely with Physiotherapists to find solutions to global health problems.
Zineb is an Engineer and her co founder Thierry Albert, an experienced Doctor in Physiotherapy we knew this would be right up our street. We are honoured to be working closely with Zineb and for such a young Engineer who only 3 short months ago gave birth to her first baby we are truly inspired by her passion, work ethic and her drive to make the world a better place.
Irish Finalist for Europe
It is also great news to hear that another Irish entrant has been chosen as finalist amongst the 2900 applicants. Tracy O’Rourke’s Company Vivid Edge https://www.vividedge.ie/ offers energy efficiency as a service to large companies on a monthly fee basis thus avoiding capital outlay. This solves a key problem for corporations who have to meet strict payback targets or preserve capital for core activities, enabling energy-saving renovations that would not otherwise happen. No doubt we will be seeing amazing things from Tracy and her team in the future.
This year the finale week and award ceremony will be held in San Francisco from 25 April to 3 May. EVB Sport have been invited and fly out on 30th April. We will be sure to keep you updated with photos and stories during the week. The finalists will benefit from preparation and coaching sessions from members of the INSEAD network prior to submitting their proposals for evaluation by the jury.
On 2 May 2019, at San Francisco’s Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. These Laureates will take home US $100,000 in prize money; the other 14 finalists receiving US $30,000. Finally, the 7 laureates and 14 finalists will all benefit from one to one personalized mentoring, media visibility and international professional networking opportunities, as well as a place on an executive INSEAD programme.
We wish both Tracy and all the finalists the very best of luck and especially Zineb and the team @EZYGain. We remember our time with the Cartier Team back in 2014 very fondly and it remains one of the highlights of our journey so far here at EVB Sport.
